This second training was dedicated to practical aspects and concrete skills to advocate and campaign for Freedom of Expression.

Participants examined good practices for media activism and learned about building a communication campaign.

Practical work during the training

A one day-long practical workshop examined the effective sue of social networks and the concrete use of communication tools: how to shoot and broadcast a small video with a cellphone, how to spread Human Rights content on social networks, how to avoid internet censorship.

Informal session during the training

Another day focused on campaigning for freedom of expression in Tunisia. It included a review of UN reports about Tunisia and their content regarding Freedom of Expression : UN Human Rights Council report, latest UPR report on Tunisia.

Practical cases were discussed to develop the campaigning skills of the participants.

Another day was dedicated to the role of the media in times of election. Participants learned about international standards for elections, electoral monitoring practices, and about the monitoring of the media during elections.
